Day 1 Arrival in Arusha

Arrive Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) in Arusha, Tanzania. Airport Meet and Greet. Transfer to your hotel* for overnight.

Day 2 Arusha – Tarangire NP

Afternoon departure for Tarangire. Game drive en-route to your lodge. (BLD)

Day 3 Tarangire NP

Morning and afternoon game drives in Tarangire – home of the giant Baobab trees. (BLD)

Day 4 Tarangire NP – Lake Manyara NP – Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area

Drive to Lake Manyara National Park and game drive. Continue to Karatu arriving for a late lunch. Nature walk or optional activities available at the lodge. (BLD)

Day 5 Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area

Entire day will be spent 2000 feet down on the floor of this fabulous crater which is teeming with wildlife. This is one of the best places to see black rhinos. The crater elephants also have some of the largest tusks in all of Africa. Picnic lunch at one of the hippo pools. Late afternoon return to the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge for overnight. (BLD)

Day 6 Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area – Arusha

After breakfast proceed down into the Rift Valley and back to Arusha. Your lunch will be en-route with an afternoon arrival at Mountain Village Lodge. There is a day room here for you to organize yourself for the trip home. In the early evening you will be transferred to the Kilimanjaro International Airport to begin your safari – Swahili for journey – home. (BL)

Wildebeest only mate once a year, generally between mid April and mid May during what is called “the rut”. After the rut, the herds normally split into two distinct groups, one heading northwest into western Serengeti whilst the other moves northward through central Serengeti and Ikoma.
